Product
If you receive a genuinely broken product, such as a cracked or broken glass jar, please contact us immediately at info@maisonfayard.ca . In order to process your request as quickly as possible, we will ask you to send a clear photo of the broken product .
Please note that a simple dent in a can or a slight deformation in the packaging does not constitute a broken product and does not affect food safety. This situation may occur during transport, but it remains purely aesthetic and the product remains perfectly edible.
Our team will analyze each case of a truly damaged product and offer you a suitable solution.
In Canada, there are two types of dates that can appear on food packaging.
The best before date (UBD) , indicated by the words "Use by..." , is a mandatory date. It applies to highly perishable products, such as fresh meat, dairy products or prepared meals. After this date, the product may pose a health risk. It is important to follow this indication and not to consume the food if the date has passed. Safety also depends on compliance with the storage conditions mentioned on the packaging. If the cold chain has been broken, the BBD no longer guarantees the safety of the product.
The Best Before Date (often called Best Before Date, or formerly Best Before Date) , indicated by the words "Best Before..." , is different. After this date, the product does not present a health hazard, but it may have lost certain qualities such as taste, texture or nutritional value. It is therefore possible to consume it, even if the taste experience may be diminished.
A dented can does not pose any particular threat to product quality or safety, as long as it is not damaged to the point of leaking or swelling. Metal can bend easily during shipping. The damage is mostly cosmetic.
However, there are some signs to watch out for: a swollen , punctured or leaking can should not be consumed. These signs usually indicate that gas has formed inside, which means the product is no longer safe to eat.
Our products are selected from local French producers, rigorously chosen for their environmentally friendly and certified practices. I see an amount on my card, but I haven't completed my order
What you see on your bank statement is not an actual debit , but a pre-authorization made by your bank.
This means that your bank temporarily reserved the amount when you started placing the order.
Since you have not completed your order, no payment has been collected by our store. Everything is handled automatically by your banking institution.
Your bank will release the pre-authorization within 2 to 5 business days (varies by institution). The amount will then disappear from your statement.
No, because we have no control over this process.
If you have any doubts, you can simply contact your bank's customer service for confirmation.
